Summer Series

Music can make the ordinary into the extraordinary.

My “Summer Series” blog postings will feature unique ways music can do that  – for everyone.   Many will focus on low, or no cost ideas.

This page will provide a brief description and LINKS to them, as well as the questions asked on each one.  PLEASE add your comments !!

Homemade Liberty bells RING for Independence Day - Help your child make a bell, guidelines allow freedom of choice for the child.  A slide show of my Imagine That! students and their bells is included for examples.

Momsense and Dadsense, not a lot of nonsense  -  Hilarious videos about the compulsive things we say as parents.   Doesn’t the music make this extraordinary?   What kind of momsense and dadsense get thrown around in your family?

Good children’s music by Eric Herman  -  DANCE BREAK, turn up the tunes, and get your body moving to the beat.  What’s your favorite music to dance with your family?

Build Connections and Peace through Music  - WOW!  just WOW, this is certainly extraordinary.   Playing for Change is now a worldwide movement to connect people and bring peace around the world through music.  There is a video of “Stand By Me” that will amaze you, a video of baby Eli’s response to this video, and fun ideas to engage your child with this music.   How does YOUR child respond?

Summer Sing-a-Longs  -  This posting on my resources blog was written in 2007, but the resources are still quite active and relevant.  There is a great website for “camp” songs to sing, AND a fun book / CD set that is GREAT for long car trips.   What’s your family’s favorite song to sing together?
